Veyle
The Veyle in Pont -de- Veyle
The Veyle is a French river in the department of Ain, in the Rhône -Alpes. It has its origins in the lake Etang Magnenet, east of the city Chalamont, drained generally northwest direction, flows just west past the town of Bourg -en- Bresse and ends after 67 kilometers, across from Macon, as a left tributary of the Saône in.
In the lower reaches, the river in a part of south extending arm, which is referred to as Petite Veyle. After about 4 kilometers, it unites near Saint -Jean -sur- Veyle again with the main river, to separate again after a few hundred meters. The nunmehrige Bayou is also called Petite Veyle and ends after about 8 kilometers independently in the Saône. The mouth is located 1.5 kilometers south of the mouth of the main river Veyle.
