The Valašský hokejový club Vsetín is a Czech ice hockey club from Vsetín.

Club history

Hockey was played in Vsetín at the beginning of the 20th century. As the founding year of the SK Vsetín 1934 applies, even if a game company was incorporated in 1938. In Czechoslovakia Vsetín never played higher class. After the regime change sponsors could be attracted, which top players could be involved. In 1994 won HC Zbrojovka Vsetín, so the then club name, the 1st League ( the second- highest division ) and rose in the Extraliga, which should dominate in the next few years the club. Between 1995 and 1999, they made sure all five championship titles. 2000 HC Slovnaft Vsetín was beaten in the final HC Sparta Prague, only a year later, the club secured the sixth and last time being champion. In April 2001, the club patron Roman was arrested Zubík, the team fell apart then, it was enough just to ninth. The following season, the youngest team in the league reached seventh place after all. In the 2003/2004 season, the financial difficulties could be partially solved after two years the club had at least one major sponsor again. Sporty it was bad, the second to last place standing at the end of the season to book. 2004/2005 it was enough to twelfth place.

During the 2006/07 season the club had financial problems and some performers left the club. Before the following season the club was denied membership in the Extraliga. Also in the first league Vsetín was not allowed to play, so the game operating the men's team has been set. A year later it was announced that Vsetínská hokejová had acquired a third- League license for the season 2008 /09.
