Viagrande
Viagrande is a city in the Province of Catania in the Italian region Sicily, with 8303 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).
Location and data
Viagrande is 13 km north of Catania on the southern slope of Mount Etna. The inhabitants mainly work in agriculture ( fruit and wine ) and tourism.
The neighboring municipalities are Aci Bonaccorsi Aci Sant'Antonio, San Giovanni la Punta, Trecastagni and Zafferana Etnea.
History
The Year of foundation is unknown. The name is explained by the location on the Via Grande to Messina.
