Viasna Human Rights Centre

Wjasna (White Russian Вясна, German Spring) is a human rights organization in Belarus, headquartered in Minsk. The organization was founded in 1996 by Ales Bjaljazki to providing financial and legal support political prisoners and their families.

2005 Wjasna was awarded the Homo Homini Award -. The organization has now been banned and condemned its founder, Ales Bjaljazki November 24, 2011 for tax evasion to four and a half years in a penal camp. The European Union and the U.S. have criticized the process as "political performance".
