The Energi Viborg Arena is a football stadium in the Danish town of Viborg; which is located in the eponymous municipality in Jutland.

History

The 1931 inaugurated venue is the home of Viborg FF sports. In 2001, the old plant was demolished and for 62.1 million DKK (approx. € 8.3 million) rebuilt until 2007. Today, the stadium has 9,566 seats. They are spread over four covered stands ( West: 2662, North: 2072, East: 2,792, South: 2040 ). At concerts, there are up to 17,000 seats. The naming rights of the individual spectator stands were sold to companies. The playing field has a soil heating and floodlights provides 1200 lux In 2008, two big screens were installed in the stadium.

The stadium meets the requirements of the Danish Association DBU for the highest league and the UEFA for international matches. The sports facility has been used several times by the Danish national football team of women for internationals. UEFA awarded in December 2008, the U-21 European Football Championships 2011 in Denmark. In addition to the NRGi Park in Aarhus; the MCH Arena in Herning and the Energi Nord Arena in Aalborg was the Viborg Stadium one of the four venues.

In October 2011, the stadium received the sponsor names Energi Viborg Arena after the energy and water utilities Energi Viborg. The agreement was concluded by the year 2014.
