Vic Akers

David Victor " Vic" Akers, OBE ( born August 24, 1946 in London ) is an English football coach. Akers was until 2009 Head Women's Coach of Arsenal FC.

Career as a player

Akers was in the seventies defender at Cambridge United (1971-1974) and at the Watford FC ( 1974/1975 ). Later he joined Arsenal and was kit man the men's team. This office he holds today.

Career as a coach

In 1987, Akers the Arsenal Ladies Football Club. He also took over as coach and made the club the most successful club in English women's football. The biggest success was winning the UEFA Women 's Cup 2007.
