Vicente Leñero

Vicente Leñero Otero ( born June 9, 1933, Guadalajara) is a Mexican writer, playwright, journalist, television and film screenwriter.

Biography

Leñero studied until 1959 at the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México ( UNAM), when he became the literary work and the theater turned to a study of literature and recorded also at the Escuela de Periodismo Carlos Septien Garcia.

As early as 1963 his play lot was Albañiles ( translation by U. Kunzmann: "You have Don killed Jesus " ) won the Premio Biblioteca Breve. In addition to numerous other awards he received in 1995, 2000 and 2001, the Premio Ariel, milagros each for El callejón de los, La ley de Herodes and El crimen del padre Amaro. In 2001 he received the " Xavier Villaurrutia " prize and a year later the National Prize for Arts and Sciences in the category Literature and Language.
