Vickleby

Vickleby is a municipality belonging to Mörbylånga place ( tätort ) on the Swedish island of Öland in the province of Kalmar County, the historical province of Öland.

The place is located in the southwest of the island. Through the village, the road 136 runs east extends the Alvar. In this barren Avarlandschaft lie southeast of the town and the Vätar Övre Nedre lindskärr. West of Vickelby, on the banks of the Kalmar Strait, lies the nature reserve and Discontinued port project Beijershamn northwest is the Karlevistein a well-known rune stone.

In Vickleby there is a school founded by Carl Malmsten for crafts Capellagården. The work of the school there are also exhibited and sold. Already from the early Middle Ages comes the Church of Vickleby. Noteworthy is the pulpit from the Rococo period.
