Victor Noel-Paton, Baron Ferrier

Victor Ferrier Noel- Paton, Baron Ferrier ED, DL ( born January 29, 1900 in Edinburgh, † June 4, 1992 ) was a British soldier and businessman.

Victor Ferrier Noel- Paton was born in 1900 in Edinburgh, the son of a higher official representative of the Indian government, which has at times been Director General of Commercial Intelligence. He went into Cargilfield to school and attended the Edinburgh Academy. His military service he served 1918-19 with the Royal Engineers. From 1920 to 1951 he lived in India and had an excellent career in Bombay in trade and politics. During this time he came into management and leadership positions in several companies. He was president of the Chamber of Commerce in Bombay and was a member of the Bombay Legislative Council. He served from April 8, 1919 in the longer term in the Bombay Light Horse of the Indian Auxiliary Force, where he had finally to the rank of Major. He was an Honorary A.D.C. to the Governor of Bombay. He served from 1928 to 1934 as a Captain in the Army in India Reserve of Officer who was one of the 19th King George V 's Own Lancers, Indian Army. He was awarded the Efficiency Decoration (ED ) and was Deputy Lieutenant.

In 1932 he married Joane Mary, a daughter of Sir Gilbert Wiles, KCIE, CSI and had by her a son and three daughters.

On September 24, 1958, he was as Baron Ferrier of Culter in the County of Lanarkshire Life peer and thus a member of the House of Lords.
