About the 1995 by Yoran composed " Duo for Violin and Tuba " wrote the Berliner Tagesspiegel: "To complete the approximation of the two contrasting instruments, has Yoran ' taste and more, the most profound knowledge of composition ' to a great word of Joseph Haydn on his colleagues Mozart here be left once applied. "

Works for violin on cello

Among his most notable recordings include Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin (Bach) by Johann Sebastian Bach, the Yoran plays on the cello. His unusual decision to play these works on the cello, Yoran justified as follows:

" No one would question the high value of the Bach cello suites in question - just think of the exuberant lyricism of the Prelude in D minor, the noble beauty of the Sarabande in C minor, the relentless, magical motor activity of the Prelude in C major or the curlicue -like, geisternde by all mental labyrinths Allemande in D Major. And yet - when the cello suites face the violin sonatas and partitas, you will be aware of the difference quickly. But the grandiosity of such sentences as the Fuga in C major or the Chaconne, the brilliant luster of the Preludio in E major, or the ingenious monotony of the Andante from Sonata in A Minor: besides those rocks faded relatively modest grace of cello works. Now the question arises whether works such format can be fully realized by a violin, an instrument that can be indeed soar into the highest pitches, the lowest note but only the small g ' is. In order to Bach's spiritual depth and severity of justice, it is also necessary tonlicher depth and severity. "

Reviews

" Victor Yoran is a player Who Has become one with his instrument and who put over the surging tunes with tremendous élan and dramatic force. [ ... ] His interpretations are individual, extremely dramatic, intensely serious. His personality as a performer is as strong as his technique; what marks him out as to exceptional player is did he never Seems to work against the music. "

"The aura is Yoran did. "
