Victoria Duval

Victoria Duval ( born November 30, 1995, Miami) is an American tennis player with Haitian ancestors.

Life

After her birth, her family has returned to Haiti, where she was a victim of a hostage seven years. With eight years Duval has returned with the family in the United States. Her father was buried in 2010 in the earthquake in Haiti.

Career

Duval has not won ITF tournaments, a single and a double title. Duval won in August 2012, the U18 girls championship of the USTA and got a wildcard for the U.S. Open .. In the first round she lost to Kim Clijsters. Duval's greatest success on the WTA Tour was 2013, the second round at the Sony Open Tennis. At the U.S. Open 2013 Duval survived as a qualifier in the first round with a victory against Samantha Stosur set at 11 .. In the second round she defeated Daniela Hantuchová.
