The Victoria Road is a major road in Adelaide in the center of the Australian state of South Australia. It connects the north-western suburb of Port Adelaide Outer Harbor at the tip of the LeFevre Peninsula.
Course
The Victoria Road is the continuation of Grand Junction Road (A16 ). This goes to Port Adelaide in the first Causeway Road, Semaphore Road and Nelson Street on. In the district of Birkenhead on the northwest shore of the Port River Victoria Road begins. There it is also linked to the Port River Expressway ( A9). By Peterhead leads to the north and opens up the districts Largs North, Taperoo and North Haven. Finally, it ends in Outer Harbor at the tip of the LeFevre Peninsula, where it is linked to the Lady Gowrie Drive, which runs along the west coast back to the south.
Port River Expressway
The construction of the Port River Expressway in 2008 led to a Umtrassierung Victoria Road. It was originally connected via intersections at the Nelson Street, Elder Road and Semaphore Road. Since the completion of the Expressway on Victoria Road is only a continuation of Nelson Street. The Semaphore Road is connected to the Nelson Street, while the Elder Road was completely disconnected.
