Victoria Royals

The Victoria Royals are a Canadian ice hockey team from Victoria, British Columbia. The team plays since 2011 in one of the three highest Canadian Junior Hockey League, the Western Hockey League ( WHL).

History

The Chilliwack Bruins Chilliwack, British Columbia, were relocated following the 2010/11 season to Victoria and renamed the Victoria Royals. The resettlement was the dissolution of the Victoria Salmon Kings, who played in the ECHL from 2004 to 2011 enables. Previously, the city was already 1971-1994 - represented by the Victoria Cougars - an integral part of the WHL. As the first coach and general manager Marc Habscheid of Canadians was committed, who had once attended as a player over 300 games in the National Hockey League and the Chilliwack Bruins already trained. After the debut season 2011/12 Habscheid took a surprisingly from both offices. In July 2012, a new head coach was with Cameron Hope, a new general manager and with Dave Lowry presented.
