Victory Monument in Netanya

The Victory Monument in Netanya is a monument that commemorates the victory of the Red Army over Nazi German Reich and the solidarity with Israel. The monument was erected by order of the Israeli government and with the approval of the Russian government.

The monument consists of two elements that symbolize the transition from darkness to light, and thus the relationship between the military victory of Russia, which ended the Holocaust of the Jewish people upon which later followed by the establishment of the Jewish state.

The monument was inaugurated on June 25, 2012 with a ceremony at which Russian President Vladimir Putin took part.
