Vidar Riseth (2006)

Vidar Riseth (* April 21, 1972 in Frosta ) is a former Norwegian football player.

The midfielder began his career at FK Neset and came across the stations Rosenborg BK, Kongsvinger IL, Luton Town, LASK Linz, Celtic Glasgow at 1860 Munich. In the Bundesliga, he came up with 53 games in which he scored 3 goals. Then he returned to Rosenborg BK. The end of 2007, he moved surprisingly - as he himself admitted, for family reasons - the Norwegian first division club Lillestrøm SK.

In the Norwegian national team, he came 50 appearances for, scoring 4 goals. He was part of the Norwegian squad for the World Cup in 1998 and for the European Championship 2000.

The botched qualifications for the Football World Cup 2002, Euro 2004, World Cup 2006 and the European Football Championship 2008, he was also in the process with. He made his last international match on 21 November 2007 in the 4-1 win against Malta in Ta'Qali.

Curiosities

Riseth was transferred in 1998 to Scotland for Celtic Glasgow. The proud transfer fee for him was around 2.2 million euros. The money for this but never landed on the account of LASK, but disappeared in the wake of Rieger affair.
