Vidoje Blagojević

Vidoje Blagojevic ( born June 22, 1950 in Bratunac, Yugoslavia ) is a Bosnian Serb who participated in the Srebrenica massacre and were therefore sought internationally. During the war in Bosnia Blagojevic climbed into the top ranks of the Vojska Republike Srpska, the Army of Republika Srpska on. He was commander of the Bratunac Brigade.

On 10 August 2001, he was arrested and extradited to the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague. He was charged with participating in a genocide, crimes against humanity and violations of international law to protect the civilian population. Together with the co-accused Dragan Jokic pleaded innocent. In the first instance judgment Blagojevic received on 17 January 2005 a prison sentence of 18 years. In the second instance the judgment on 9 May 2007 was reduced to 15 years. Blagojevic was acquitted of the charge of complicity in genocide.
