The Vierbach rises in the southeast part of the nature park Meissner Kaufunger forest on the eastern flank of the High Meissner ( 753.6 m above sea level. NN ). Your source is located west of Germerode, a municipality part of Meissen, at about 430 m above sea level. NN.

Initially, the Vierbach, the natural park flows leaving east to Germerode from where she turns on along the country road 3243 to the southeast. A few kilometers after flowing through this village and a little after passing the mercury mill runs the river through the village Vierbach, in the municipality of Wehretal. Then the stream passes through the mill and brewery runs in its lower reaches eastward.

Finally, the Vierbach opens - after passing under the canon rail, the rail line Bebra -Göttingen and State Road 27 and after passing the Riedmühle - something below or northwest of the located not directly on the Vierbach village Reichensachsen, the seat of the municipal administration of Wehretal, on their last meters south-southwest of coming to around 175 m above sea level.
