Neighboring municipalities are (from north clockwise beginning ): Oberhaid, Bischenberg, Lisberg, Priesendorf and Eltmann ( Haßberge County, Lower Franconia ).

History
Viereth belonged to the monastery Michel mountain of the Bishopric of Bamberg. Since the Imperial Diet of 1803 the place belonged to Bavaria. Trunstadt belonged to a family of Rieneck and only fell in 1806 ( Act of Confederation ) to Bavaria. Today's church was established on 1 May 1978 with the inclusion of the community in the community Trunstadt Viereth. From that date until January 1, 1980, the congregation was a member of the administrative community Bischenberg. On 1 July 1980, the community name was officially changed to Viereth Viereth -Trunstadt.

Mayor Edwin Mahr (Citizens Community / Nonpartisan voter community ). He was re- elected in 2002 successor of Johann Schmitt ( Civil Union) and 2008 with 93.22 % of votes in the year. To his successor in 2014 Regina Well Part ( Civil Union) is selected, the 58.70 % of the vote in a rival candidate of the CSU.

Economy, agriculture and forestry
It was in 1998 according to official statistics in the field of agriculture and forestry 6, 309 in manufacturing and in trade and transport 64 persons work at the workplace.
