Four Churches is a municipality in the district Görlitz, Saxony. The municipality belongs to the administrative community Reichenbach / OL of.

Geography and transport

The community of four churches located in the Midwest of the county, approximately 15 km east of Bautzen and about 10 km northwest of the county seat Reichenbach / OL removed. The Federal Highway 6 runs south of the community, the Federal Highway 4 runs through the municipality and can be reached via the connections Weissenberg or low Seifersdorf.

History

The community of four churches was formed on 1 January 1994 from the communities Arnsdorf - Hilbersdorf, Buchholz and Melaune during the Saxon municipal reform. The four churches of Arnsdorf, Buchholz, Melaune and Tetta here were eponymous; these four churches also appear in the arms of the municipality. Since its creation, the church belongs to the administrative community Reichenbach.

In the district of Arnsdorf is a generations -run business for the degradation of granite. The Arnsdorfer granite floor was built in the Carboniferous and is mined today. Here the Congress Hall in Nuremberg and the CMEA building was, inter alia, the material for the Berlin Olympic Stadium, won in Moscow.   • Another attraction is an impressive archaeological site on the banks of the Black Schoeps: It is probably a Slav section of the Wall is separated addressed as " Merburg ".
