Vietnam Television

Vietnam TV ( Vietnamese: Việt Nam Dai Truyen Hình, VTV ) is a Vietnamese Broadcasting Company. It operated until VTV6 six national television VTV1. The program is broadcast in Vietnamese and French. VTV4 is partially sent in English.

In South Vietnam, the first television programs were broadcast in the 1960s, when the U.S. two television stations established in Saigon in Vietnamese and English. In communist North, the first broadcast on September 7, 1970 broadcast, the TV station was initially a department of the radio station Voice of Vietnam. After the end of the Vietnam War in 1975, the formerly operated by the Americans broadcasters were combined with the North Vietnamese television and expanded to nationwide programs, 1976, split off from the television station Voice of Vietnam.

In 1978, color television was launched. On April 30, 1987, the name Vietnam Television was officially introduced. On January 1, 1990 started with VTV2 the second TV station, followed VTV3 ( first broadcast on 31 March 1996), VTV4 ( first broadcast on 27 April 2000), VTV5 ( first broadcast was the 10th February 2002). On 27 April 2007 took VTV6 the sixth station on its operation. The regional broadcast centers are located in Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Nha Trang, Can Tho, Vinh and Tam Đạo. This program is distributed nationally through a network of provincial and municipal TV stations.

VTV4 can be received in Germany via the Eutelsat Hot Bird 13B, Thaicom 5 and Intelsat 907 and is also offered by some cable companies.

VTV has his own production company for movies and series. However, the proportion of Vietnamese productions at the entire program is only 30%, the rest being imported and translated into Vietnamese formats. Most productions come from South Korea, Japan and China, but also from Germany, such as the series Air Rescue.
