Vigolzone

Vigolzone is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 4320 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Piacenza in Emilia -Romagna. The municipality is situated approximately 16 km south-southwest of Piacenza in the Val Nure. The eastern boundary of the municipality is the Nure.

History

The reporting on the Battle of the Trebbia is also reported from the place Viccunia (218 BC ). Archaeological excavations have confirmed the existence of this place in the municipal area in the 18th century. The castle of Vigolzone was built from 1242.

Economy and Transport

At the Colli Piacento wine is grown. Due to the growing area and passing through the municipality, the former State Road 654 di Val Nure Piacenza after Rezzoaglio in Liguria. The former railway line from Piacenza after Bettola (La Littorina ) at which there was a railway station in the district Grazzano Visconti is shut down since 1967.
