In the course of various administrative reforms after the Liberal Revolution in 1822 and the following Miguelistenkrieg the independent circuit Vila Verde was posted on October 24, 1855 established by resolution of the circles Pico de Regalados, Vila Cha e Larim, Penal and Prado.
