Viladecavalls

Viladecavalls is a small municipality in the district of Vallès Occidental, Barcelona province in Catalonia, Spain.

Geography

The city is located in the east of the district on the border with the neighboring county of Baix Llobregat, from the Viladecavalls to the mostly dry river Sant Jaume is disconnected. This combines the extreme southern edge of the river of Gaià, which crosses the municipality from north to south. Together they form the river Morral del Moli, an important feed of the Llobregat. Place

The residents of Viladecavalls, also known as " La Tarumba " is popularly known and its inhabitants as " Tarumbaires ", consists of two town centers, separated by the highway B- 120. Both town centers are located on the hills of the Serra de sorbet and originated in the vicinity of two fortified manors which belonged to the parish of Sant Miquel de sorbet. Sant Miquel de sorbet is one of the three parishes which, together with those of Sant Miquel de Toudell and Santa Maria Toudell, the church today. All three were in the sphere of influence of the fortification of the castle and then Terrassa, Sant Pere de Terrassa, until finally the community Viladecavalls was formed in 1849.

From the 1950s to Viladecavalls was used as a summer resort for the residents Terrassas and Barcelona.

The coat of arms

A diamond-shaped shield in azure with three horses in silver, about a mural crown. It was approved on 12 January 1984.
