Vilas County, Wisconsin

The Vilas County is a county located in the state of Wisconsin in the United States. In the census in 2010, the County had 21,430 inhabitants and a population density of 9.5 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Eagle River.

History

The Vilas County was formed in 1893 from parts of Oneida County. It was named after William Vilas (1840-1908), a former Senator, Postmaster General and Minister of the Interior of the United States.
