Vileda

Vileda is part of the Freudenberg Group. The Vileda brand was registered with the introduction of the Vileda window cloth 1948. Developed in 1962 from the brand Vileda Vileda GmbH as a classic marketing and sales company. According to the company Vileda has an awareness level of 97 % in Germany. Today, in more than 70 countries products are sold under the brand Vileda.

History

Etymology

The brand name of the company to have originated in the 20th century, when the wife of Dr. Carl Ludwig Nottebohm described the non-woven fabric as soft as leather; it was later Vileda. Other internal company sources deny this and explain the brand name is a portmanteau, which is easy to pronounce by the alternation of vowels and consonants in all languages.

The first products

In 1948 the window cloth on the market, which today is in a developed form in the range. In the 1950s and 1960s, the paper towel, sponge cloth, floor cloth, dish cloth and the car cloth were added. The Cloths was successively to the categories scourer (1965 ), Cleaning Equipment such as the Vileda mop (1985 ) or the Wischmat (1993 ), household gloves (1989 ) complements and Laundry Care ( 2004).

Development

From the Vileda brand founded in 1948, in 1962 developed the Vileda GmbH, which was the beginning of the 1980s to an international brand. On 13 November 1990, the Freudenberg Household Products was founded as a holding company of the Freudenberg Group has offices in seven European countries. The location of Germany as a center for administration and production is of central importance.

The products are divided primarily to: Dishwashing & Wiping (cloths and sponges), Floorcleaning ( mop, flat mop systems including bucket ) Laundry Care ( laundry care ) Brushes & Brooms ( brush and brush), Gloves ( household and garden gloves).

Turnover

The business of Freudenberg Household Products branch is divided into the Consumer Division ( about 85 percent of sales) and Professional ( about 15 percent). The sales increased by 3.7 percent ( 650.3 million euros ) compared to 2006 ( 626.9 million euros ) in fiscal 2007. The number of employees rose to 2,348 ( 133).
