Vilém Blodek

Vilem František Blodek ( born October 3, 1834 in Prague, † May 1, 1874 ) was a Czech composer.

Blodek was in Prague pupil of Johann Friedrich Kittl. He was initially house music teacher in Lubyce, then piano teacher in Prague and finally from 1860 flute teacher at the conservatory.

In addition to the successful opera The Fountain ( V Studni ) ( 1867) Blodek composed a symphony, an overture, a fair, a flute concerto, songs and piano works.
