Rajongemeinde Vilkaviškis ( lit. Vilkaviškio rajono savivaldybė ) is a Rajongemeinde in the district Marijampolė in Lithuania on the border with Poland and the Kaliningrad Oblast (Russia). The center is Vilkaviškis. There are 42 327 inhabitants. The places are Kybartai, Virbalis et al By Rajon flows the Šešupė.
History
The Rajon was formed in 1950 by the District Vilkaviškis. 1995 Rajongemeinde was founded. 2009, formed 83 sub- office districts ( seniūnaitija ).
