Villa Bouchina

The villa Bouchina was in the Dutch city of Doetinchem. During the Second World War there were nine ( according to other sources eight) Jews arrested by the German occupation forces with outstanding social status on 27 February 1943 and held captive at first preferred treatment. The goal was to bring others Onderduikers (hidden Jews ) with the prospect of preferential treatment to provide voluntarily. The detainees were taken away but already on 21 April 1943 in the Theresienstadt ghetto.

Doetinchem was not the only city with a detention of this kind; in the nearby town of Barneveld, the Germans used with the same intention, De Schaffelaar castle and the house De Biezen. In Barneveld around 600 people were detained. Were selected such persons of the Secretary-General Frederik, who was also responsible for the internment in the villa Bouchina.
