Villa Luganese

Villa Luganese is a district of Lugano in the district of Lugano Nord, in the district of Lugano in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland and is located at the entrance to Valcolla on the border with Italy.

Merger with the City of Lugano

On 30 September 2007, the voters of Barbengo, Carabbia and Villa Luganese the incorporation of these three communities agreed to in the city of Lugano. The voters of the municipality Cadro however, rejected the merger. Although Villa Luganese thereby becomes a enclave of the city of Lugano, which makes it impossible to incorporation in principle, Villa Luganese was incorporated into the city of Lugano. The merger became effective on 20 April 2008.
