Villa Riachuelo

Villa Riachuelo is the southernmost district of the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires.

It has almost 15,000 inhabitants (as of 2001) on an area of 4.1 km ² and is one of the less densely populated parts of the city. Villa Riachuelo is bounded by the streets Avenida Lisandro de la Torre, José Barros Pazos - street, Avenida General Paz Avenida 27 de Febrero, Escalada Street and Avenida Coronel Roca. Villa Riachuelo belongs to the Comuna C8.

In Villa Riachuelo are the Autódromo Municipal de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires ( Autódromo Oscar Alfredo Gálvez ) and the Lago de Regatas, which is also used for water sports competitions. There are two sports clubs: the Asociación Cultural y Deportiva " El Ideal " and the Lugano Fútbol Club.

In the Avenida Francisco Fernandez de la Cruz 6380 is the " Centro Cultural Saladiyo ", the local cultural center.
