Villa Santa Rita

Villa Santa Rita is a district west of the geographic center of the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires. The district has nearly 34,000 inhabitants in an area of 2.3 km ². It thus belongs to the smaller neighborhoods and is part of the Comuna C11.

Description

Villa Santa Rita is bounded by the streets Condarco, Av. Álvarez Jonte, Miranda, Joaquín V. González and Av. Gaona. The district is predominantly residential area with tree lined streets. Was named the district after the church " Santa Rita Casia ".

The most famous inhabitant of the district is the writer Jorge Luis Borges, who also mentions Villa Santa Rita in his story " Hombre de la Esquina Rosada ". Other personalities who are connected to the district, are the racers Oscar Gálvez, the musician Alfredo Gobbi and Baldomero Fernández Moreno.

The Stadtteiltag is celebrated annually on September 5.
