Villabate

Villabate is a city in the province of Palermo in the Italian region Sicily, with 19,971 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012).

Location and data

Villabate is located 10 km east of Palermo. The inhabitants mainly work in agriculture ( citrus and fruit ) and the trade.

The place is just off the A19 / E90 Palermo - Messina.

The neighboring municipalities are Ficarazzi, Misilmeri and Palermo.

History

The founding date of this place is unknown. Finds at excavations prove, however, that here have lived in ancient humans.
