Villafrati is a city in the province of Palermo in the Italian region Sicily, with 3404 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Location and data

Villafrati located 37 km south of Palermo. The inhabitants work mainly in agriculture and carpentry.

The place is right on the road SS 121 from Palermo to Agrigento. A direct rail connection does not exist.

Borders the following municipalities: Baucina, Bolognetta, Cefalà Diana, Ciminna, Marineo and Mezzojuso.

History

The village was founded in the 18th century. It was founded by Vincenzo Filangeri, Count of San Marco.
