Village Institutes
The village institutions (Turkish: Köy Enstitüleri ), were founded between 1940-1948 training centers for teachers in Turkey. As a key founder of the Village Institute is the former Minister of Culture of Turkey Hasan Ali Yücel.
Target
The trainees there should be seconded to the then barely equipped with schools rural parts of Turkey to establish public educational institutions for boys and girls there. In this way, an almost full coverage of the country was achieved with schools within a very short time.
Recording and teaching content
Gifted peasant children from 11 to 18 years who have already mastered reading, writing and mathematics at the age were included and taught in agriculturally useful knowledge, and knowledge of folk music, health education and Turkish poetry. The training plans always looked to the future practice of people working in agriculture students.
Closure
The village institutes were closed in 1954 under the premiership of Adnan Menderes (DP) and converted to conventional teacher training institutions. The reason the spread was led by " ugly left ideas ".
