Big Park, sometimes called the Village of Oak Creek is a census -designated place in Yavapai County in the U.S. state of Arizona.

Geography

Big Park is located eight kilometers south of Sedona. At a distance of around 130 kilometers, Prescott, the county seat ( county seat ) of Yavapai County, in Southwestern. Flagstaff is about 40 kilometers to the north. Right through Big Park leads the Arizona State Route 179 Highway Interstate 17 runs about 10 kilometers southeast of the city, separated by a mountain range. In the north of Oak Creek flows.

History

The city's name is based on the originally open, park -like landscape that surrounded the village. In the early 1960s it has been removed as the " Village of Oak Creek " to a tourist center.
