Villeneuve-Saint-Germain

Villeneuve -Saint -Germain is a northern French village with 2461 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Aisne in the Picardie region.

Geography

It is located in the metropolitan area east of Soissons. Neighboring municipalities are:

• Bucy -le-Long in the Northeast,
• Venizel in the southeast,
• Billy -sur -Aisne in the south and
• Soissons in the West.

The northern boundary of the municipality forms a loop of the river Aisne, which was straightened for navigation through an abbreviation channel.

History

After the community name the Villeneuve -Saint -Germain- group was a group of Neolithic culture named.
