Villers-la-Montagne

Villers- la -Montagne ( German: Bergweiler, Luxembourgish: Biergweller ) is a commune with 1433 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Meurthe -et -Moselle in the Lorraine region.

Geography

Villers- la -Montagne is located in the south of Longwy. Neighboring municipalities are Haucourt- Moulaine in the north, Hussigny- Godbrange in the east, in the southeast Tiercelet, Bréhain -la -Ville in the south, Morfontaine the southwest, Laix in the west and Chenières in the northwest. East of the community core runs the Route nationale 52 (N 52).

History

The town was first mentioned in 926 as Villare.

From 1965 to 1989, Marcel Reuter was mayor, his successor François Boudot (UMP ). In 2014 local elections.
