Villerupt
Villerupt ( German Hamlet or Wyler ) is a commune with 9387 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Meurthe -et -Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Briey and is the administrative center ( chef - lieu ) of the Canton of Villerupt.
Geography
Villerupt located southeast of Longwy at an altitude 309-442 m above sea level, the average height is 380 m. The municipality covers 6.56 km ² (656 ha), and a population density of 1477 inhabitants per km ². To Villerupt include the districts: Cantebonne ( Kantelbronn ) Micheville ( 1576: Micheweiler ) and Tutange.
