Villiers-sur-Marne

Villiers -sur -Marne is a commune with 27,222 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Val -de- Marne in the Île- de -France region; it is in the arrondissement of Nogent -sur -Marne and is the administrative center ( chef-lieu ) of the Canton of Villiers -sur- Marne. The inhabitants are called Villiérains.

Geography

Villiers -sur -Marne is located in the Paris Basin between Noisy- le- Grand in the north and east, Le Plessis- Trévise the southeast, Champigny -sur -Marne in the southwest and Bry -sur -Marne in the northwest. Despite the name, the place is not at the Marne, but about a mile away. The easternmost community in the so-called nouvelle ville Marne- le -Vallee she is also known as Porte de Paris.
