Villy-le-Pelloux
Villy -le- Pelloux is a commune in the French department of Haute- Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region.
Geography
Villy -le- Pelloux is located at 699 m above sea level. M., about 11 km north of the town of Annecy (air line). The village stretches a scenic location on a broad ridge south of the valley of Usses, on the southwestern edge of the plateau of Bornes, in Genevois.
The area of 2.97 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the area of the Bornes Plateau. The northern boundary runs along the Usses, a left tributary of the Rhône, which flows here in an open, but clearly sunk into the surrounding valley from east to west. From Usses the communal land extends southward over a relatively gentle slope descending to the plateau Villy, the average sea level to 720 m. M. lies. The highest elevation of Villy -le- Pelloux is 754 m above sea level. M. reached on a forest height southeast of the village.
Neighboring communities of Villy -le- Pelloux are Cruseilles in the north, and Groisy Charvonnex in the east, Saint -Martin -Bellevue in the south and Allonzier -la- Caille in the West.
History
Villy -le- Pelloux is first mentioned at the beginning of the 15th century. The place name is derived from the Gallo-Roman personal name and means Villius estate of Villius.
Attractions
The village church of Villy -le- Pelloux dates from the 15th century, has been restored several times later and shows Gothic styles.
Population
With 877 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Villy -le- Pelloux one of the small towns in the Haute-Savoie region. Since the early 1970s, a substantial population increase was recorded thanks to the attractive residential area.
Economy and infrastructure
Villy -le- Pelloux is a predominantly coined by farming village today. There are also some plants of the local small business sector. Many working population commuters going about their work in the larger towns in the area as well as in space Annecy and Geneva - Annemasse.
The village region has a very well developed. It is located on a secondary road that leads from Allonzier -la- Caille La Roche- sur -Foron. Further road links exist with Charvonnex and Saint -Martin- Bellevue. The nearest links to the A41 motorway, which runs through the municipality, is located at a distance of around 2 km.
