Vilmorin was founded in 1742 as a plant and seed business by seed expert Claude Geoffroy and her husband Pierre Andrieux. This was top- gardener of King Louis XV. The store was located in Paris. 1774 married the daughter of Philippe Victoire de Vilmorin Levêque ( 1746-1804 ).
