Vin gris

White Autumn designated under German law rosé wine, which was made of a single red grape variety. The grapes must also come from a situation. However the same method as in the manufacture of white wine is used. In this case, the must before fermentation is pressed out of the grapes, so that makes the red color of the berries only noticeable as a light pink color of the wine.

Also a possible sweetening of the finished QbA or predicate wine is permitted only with unfermented grape juice ( unfermented wine ) of the same type and at least the same or higher level of quality. It is an addition of 5% red wine of the same variety possible.

Most of these wines from the Pinot Noir grape, occasionally from Portuguese Blue or Black Riesling are produced. In addition to the wine, a sparkling wine production to be possible. In both cases, the grape is on the label is given first, followed by the addition of " White Autumn".

In Austria are called with this method of preparation produced wines direct Pressed, in Switzerland it is called a Süßdruck and in France by a Vin gris.
