Vincas Kudirka

Vincas Kudirka (born 19 Dezemberjul / December 31 1858greg in Paežeriai, rayon Vilkaviškis; † 4 Novemberjul / November 16 1899greg in Vladislavovas today: .. .. Kudirkos Naumiestis ) was a Lithuanian writer, poet, journalist, critic, translator, founder of the movement Varpininkai, journalist and editor of the newspaper Varpas and one of the ideologues of the Lithuanian people's movements in the 19th century.

Kudirka is the author of the national anthem ( Tautiška Giesmė ). According to him the town are Kudirkos Naumiestis ( Kudirkos is genitive of Kudirka ) named as well as numerous high schools in Lithuania.
