Vincenzo Mangiacapre

Vincenzo Mangiacapre ( born January 17, 1989 in Marcianise ) is an Italian boxer in the Light Welterweight. Mangiacapre was bronze medalist at the European Championships in 2011, the 2011 World Championships and the Olympic Games 2012 in London.

Mangiacapre is 171cm tall, trained at Michele Cirillo at GS Fiamme Azurre in Rome and works with the Italian police.

Career

In the youth level ( U19) Mangiacapre increased in 2006 as the reigning Italian Youth Champion ( U17) in the lightweight ( 60 kg) at the EU's Junior Championships in Rome in part, however, different in the first fight against Balázs Bácskai from. At the same championships he participated in the following year in Warsaw as the reigning Italian junior champion in the light welterweight ( up to 64 kg ) part, but also different this time out in the first round.

In this he took after beating Cetin Ozdemir, Turkey ( 25:19 ), and Gyula Kate, Hungary ( 22:14 ), and an injury-related semi-final defeat against Tom Stalker, England ( where), the third place.

At the World Championships in 2011 reached Mangiacapre after victories over Sisira Kumarasinghe, Sri Lanka ( 20:3 ), Juan Pablo Romero, Mexico ( 24:14 ), Zdenek Chladek, Czech Republic ( 16:9), and Urantschimegiin monk - Erdene, Mongolia (16: 11), and a semi-final defeat against eventual champions Éverton Lopes, Brazil ( 16:7 ), the bronze medal, and thus also qualifying for the 2012 Olympics.

At the Olympics he reached after victories in the second round on Kate Gyula, Hungary ( 20:14), and in the quarterfinals on Danijar Jeleussinow, Kazakhstan ( 16:12 ), the semi-final, which he, however, against the eventual Olympic champion Roniel Iglesias, Cuba ( 15:8 ), lost and thus won the Olympic bronze medal.
