VinÃcius Bergantin
, Named Vinicius Bergantin only Vinicius ( born July 31, 1980 in Salto, Brazil), is a former Brazilian football player and current coach.
Playing career
In Brazil
The defense is originally from a village near São Paulo in Brazil, where he played in São Caetano do Esportiva Gama and the Ituano FC before joining in January 2003 to Bundesliga Hannover 96.
Hannover 96
During winter break 2002/ 03, the Brazilian signed with the German Bundesliga Hannover 96 Vinicius increased due to Italian ancestors Italian citizenship to so as not to burden the resident account of non-EU foreigners at Hannover 96. On 25 January 2003, he made his Bundesliga debut against Hamburger SV. In the 2-2 draw Vinicius was already in the starting XI. Under coach Ralf Rangnick Vinicius became a regular in the center of defense and the defensive player missed until the end of the season no longer a game. Rangnick's successor Ewald Lienen, which was set on 9 March 2004, Vinicius replaced by Per Mertesacker after he completed the first 22 game days without a break. In the aftermath Lienen Vinicius had but come to different positions in the defensive midfield for use. This line maintained Lienen's successor, Peter Neururer also. After Mertesacker move to Werder Bremen in the summer of 2006, and the substitution Neururers by Dieter Hecking Vinicius returned as regulars back into central defense. As this he extended his contract in March 2007 to summer 2010. After 2008, the first occurring back problems in the defensive player, he was often only spectators at the games of Hanover. Once he even came to eleven operations in 2008/ 09, Vinicius was 2009/10 no longer used. His last Bundesliga game was completed by the Brazilians on 23 May 2009, the 34th matchday in a 2-2 draw against Arminia Bielefeld.
Vinni, as he is called his teammates, played in his career so far 144 Bundesliga matches and scored 9 goals (as of February 3, 2011 ). Notable among these is particularly his goal against Bayern Munich on 5 April 2003: Vinicius scored just before half time a free-kick from 32 meters flat and directly after Oliver Kahn had decided, in view of the large distance to set up a wall. On 31 January 2007 in a 5-0 home win against Hannover Hertha BSC He succeeded his first and only double in the Bundesliga.
Since his back complaints of 2008, the Defense increased to spine and disc problems, which made him fail regularly. In summer 2010, the club officially adopted him.
Back in Brazil
After he had kept fit at Hannover 96 half a year, Vinicius changed from 1 January 2011 to the Brazilian second division side Americana Futebol. After a total of ten games Vinicius finished his pro career in November 2011.
Coaching career
He is currently the U-20 coach of his youth clubs Ituano FC.
Play
His sometimes fundamentally strong commitment, good positional play, hard shot and good offensive header were " Hüftsteifheit ", lack of rest and a certain duel weakness on the ground opposite.
