Vinnie Johnson

Vincent "Microwave " Johnson ( born September 1, 1956 in New York, USA ) is a former basketball player in the NBA.

Vinnie was drafted in 1979 to 7 out of the Seattle SuperSonics, for which he also played first. During the season 1981/82 he moved to the Detroit Pistons, where he was active until 1991. Then he played one season with the San Antonio Spurs.

In Detroit, he was an important bench player when he came on, often quickly ran hot, and many of points contributed. This also moved the guard of the Boston Celtics Danny Ainge, giving him the nickname "Microwave ".

With Detroit, he was in 1989 and 1990 NBA champion. In the fifth game of the NBA Finals in 1990 against the Portland Trail Blazers he met 0.7 seconds in front of the end of the game the decisive throw, the Detroit secured the second championship.

The Pistons retired his shirt number was 15 for his career end, ie that no future Piston player runs with 15.
