Vino (VNC server)

Vino is a server software for Virtual Network Computing. It is part of GNOME, a graphical user interface of Unix / Linux -like systems. Vino allows the so-called Remote Desktop, which the remote control - or even seeing - the desktop of another computer. Settings can be made via the graphical program " vino -preferences ".

In contrast to the Remote Desktop ( Microsoft Windows) Vino is not necessary the same for a second or remote login, or another user on the graphical interface as it does for example in the Windows world, the ICA Client. This ability was in the X Window System - about as opposed to Microsoft Windows - built from the beginning.

Vinagre is a fitting Vino client for the GNOME desktop environment.
