Vinod Dham

Vinod Dham (* 1950 in Pune ) is an Indian computer scientist and entrepreneur. Dham is considered as 'father' of the Pentium processor.

Life

Dham studied at the Delhi College of Engineering. After graduating, he immigrated to the United States and, after further studies at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1977 employment with the U.S. company NCR Corporation in Ohio. Then moved on to U.S. companies Intel, where he developed significantly the Pentium processor. In 1995 he left the company and Intel joined the company NexGen, where he co-developed the K6 processor among others. Gradually, the company NexGen was taken over by competitor AMD. Dham is married, has two children and lives with his family in California.
