Vinos de Madrid
Vinos de Madrid is a wine region with denomination of origin (DO since November 1990) in the Madrid region of Spain. The total vineyard area is about 11,800 hectares. The climate is strongly continental; the annual rainfall is only 460 mm ( in the subzone Arganda ) to 650 mm ( in the subzone San Martin), and summer temperatures are often at 35 ° C. 1914 (ie, about 30 years later than in France and northern Spain), the area was that the time had 60,000 hectares of vineyards, devastating infested by phylloxera. Varieties

The wine region of Vinos de Madrid is divided into three subzones.
Subzone San Martín de Valdeiglesias

Subzone Navalcarnero
In a total of 19 municipalities in the region as a whole in 2107 hectares of vineyards are planted. Here red and rose wines from the grape variety Garnacha are primarily offered. The reds tend to oxidation and quickly lose their deep dark color.
Subzone Arganda
In a total of 26 municipalities in the region total 5830 hectares of vineyards are planted. From the vine Tempranillo and Malvar arise young and fresh and fruity red wines pleasant white wines.
