Viohalco

Viohalco ( ΒΙΟΧΑΛΚΟ Α.Ε. ) is a mining company from Athens. As before major products are copper cables, tubes and semi-finished products. It generates 9 % of exports of Greece. The company is listed on the Athens Stock Exchange in Athex Composite Share Price Index.

History

Viohalco was founded in 1937 and is traded continuously since 1947 on the Athens Stock Exchange. In the 1970s, some plants of the company in Germany were manufactured. The Demag supplied in 1972 a three- stranded Bogengießanlage, 1978 provided the Krupp industrial and steel construction of a rolling mill with a capacity of 30-50 t / h to the Viohalco from. The company changed its name temporarily as Steel Works of Northern Greece SA. The Viohalco Group now maintains investments in 90 companies and manufactures in Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and England.

Known in Germany is mainly the subsidiaries Elval whose division ETEM SA mainly aluminum profiles and lightweight components, among others, for BMW, Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche manufactures.
